This soft, pure white merino roving is sourced from American flocks, rather than South America or Australia like most commercial merino. At Shepherd Textiles we know how much work goes into raising sheep in the U.S.—we used to raise a related breed, cormo—so we like to use American-raised fiber when we can. American merino is just as soft and fine as any around the world. This fiber is perfect for spinning soft yarns, felting, crafts, and is one of our favorites for dyeing.
