Shepherd Textiles Yak & Mulberry Silk Roving is a luxurious blend of 50% rare yak down fiber and 50% mulberry silk. Yak down is warmer than wool and has a soft hand similar to cashmere. It is a rare and highly prized fiber that can only be collected a few weeks a year when the yaks blow their coat. Our blend combines the warmth of yak with the shine of silk. It is also pleasant to spin, much more so than pure silk sliver, and beginners will enjoy working with it as much as expert spinners.
