Campeche Blue™
Shepherd Textiles Campeche Blue natural dye is made from the wood of the logwood tree, hematoxylin campechianum. The pigment in logwood, hematein, can produce a variety of shades of purple, blue, and black depending on how it is treated. Careful control of oxidation during the extraction process has created a logwood extract that will dye rich, deep blues on all natural fibers. Campeche Blue gives good blues on wool, cotton, and silk using as little as 4% weight-of-fabric.For safety information, background, and color recipes, please see our Guide to Dyeing With Campeche Blue.
Made in the USA. Campeche Blue is a trademark of Shepherd Textiles LLC. Provisional utility patent on file with USPTO.
